The centenary of the birth of the Futurist Movement will be held in Palermo, who was one of the powerhouses for and represented a reference point for some of the artists who will join. At the beginning of the twentieth century and during the first part of the city welcomed enthusiasm instances of proposed innovative models that vanguard in the context of artistic expression, both visual-style of writing. For the occasion, the council has prepared a series of initiatives from Saturday, March 14 will be developed during the year. The package consists of a historical and artistic itinerary through the three places that preserve evidence futurist, a vintage documentary Istituto Luce, a show organized by the Teatro Biondo Stabile di Palermo, a postmark, educational workshops for children , a conference and an exhibition of magazines, memorabilia and papers of the period. The route starts off the Gallery of Modern Art, where a movie will be screened on Futurism, from the Istituto Luce, entitled "Impressions of life-rhythms of Station No. 1," which recounts a day in the world steel railway station. As a result there will be a visit to admire some works of the painter Pippo Rizzo, who was an animator and leader of the Futurists in Sicily. Second stage via the Post Office building of Rome for the occasion open to the public conference room where you can admire the furniture and works of Tato (Guglielmo Sansoni) and Benedetta Cappa Marinetti. Finish the course a visit to Villa Zito, home of the Fondazione Banco di Sicilia-Museo Mormino, where there are the permanent collections of many artists, including Pippo Rizzo. In May the show will be staged in the theater Blonde, directed by Umberto County, the scene of Peter Carriglio and stakeholders of the Company of the Stable. In October, the Society for the History of the Sicilian country will host a conference on the future and with the cultural climate of the precious documents of the period, partly coming from the town, some put provided by Dr. Anna Maria Ruta, a scholar of the future, and partly supplied by the same Society for the History of the Homeland.
